Canadian Legacy Project for Bathroom Repairs – Thank you from All of Us!
September 29, 2017 – On behalf of Legacy Place Society, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Canadian Legacy Project for their generous support in assisting with the recent bathroom repairs at our Calgary Legacy Place House.
So far this year, as of August 31, 2017, our Calgary Legacy Place location has served 16 military clients, with approximately 740 nightly stays, offering critical support during their crisis situations. These crises have ranged from emergency medical needs and transitional accommodations to respite during suicidal recovery or challenging domestic circumstances.
The sudden loss of one of our full-service bathrooms posed a significant challenge, particularly as the damage and necessary repairs were not covered by insurance. This created a barrier to providing the immediate care and support required for our clients.
We are deeply grateful to the Canadian Legacy Project for their swift response and financial contribution, which enabled us to proceed with the necessary reconstruction and repairs in a timely manner.
Additionally, we value the time and effort Canadian Legacy Project took to learn more about how Legacy Place Society provides support to military personnel and their families. The collaboration between our organizations demonstrates how shared visions and efforts can lead to impactful results in supporting those who serve our country.

About Legacy Place Society’s Role

With a history of responding to emergencies, including the Alberta floods in 2013 and the Fort McMurray fires in 2016, we continue to provide trusted support during times of need. Our team, including Board and Advisory members, maintains strong relationships in key areas such as Kelowna, Kamloops, and Prince George.

We take great care in ensuring that funds raised through Legacy Place Society are allocated according to our mandates. A committee consisting of trusted members will oversee the distribution of funds to provide aid where it’s needed most.
