Empower Yourself to Make a Difference
Join An ASIST Training Workshop
Accredited by the Centre for Suicide Prevention, the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.
The ASIST workshops hosted by Legacy Place Society provide a safe environment, reserved for first-responders only, to participate in this crucial training.

What Participants Say
“The ASIST workshop was a transformative experience that provided me with the confidence and skills to support those in crisis. I highly recommend it to anyone in the field.”
ASIST 2024, Firefighter
“In general, there is a stigma involved with the term "suicide". As an EMS provider we have not been trained to discuss suicide with clents/patients/coworkers. This program assists with doing this in a beneficial manner."
ASIST 2024, EMS
“I strongly believe this training should be required for all first responders because of the suicidal ideations due to socioeconomic issues. This training could save a life.”
ASIST 2024, Law Enforcement
“First Responders are at a high risk of dying by suicide. This ASIST course will help First Responders with practice and action plans to keep them safe for now. I thank you for understanding this need for us on the frontline."
