Mental health workshop September 21
This mental health workshop is being offered this fall by the Warrior Wellness Twins, Dr. Helena Hawryluk and Jerris Popik, MSW, in conjunction with the Alberta Paramedic Association.
Behind Front Lines is a mental health workshop from home for paramedics, their families, and friends to discover new tools for recognizing and managing occupational stress and stress injury. The workshop will address first responder culture, it’s relation to trauma and seeking mental health support, trauma and organizational stressors, strategies to increase mental wellness in everyday life, and communicating with children about invisible injuries. It is unique in that it is an event directed not only towards front line workers, but also towards their families, friends, and children.
The workshop is 90-minutes in length and will occur online using Zoom on September 21 from 1800 – 2130 MDT. It is free of charge for everyone, including those who do not work in EMS. Registration for the event can be found at AlbertaParamedics.ca under “Workshops” or by clicking here.
Dr. Helena Hawryluk and Jerris Popik, MSW work with families of first responders and military personnel to help them navigate through both workplace, and everyday stress and trauma.
