SUMMARY:CIPSRT: Exploring Animal-Assisted Therapy for Public Safety Personnel
DESCRIPTION:Exploring Animal-Assisted Therapy for Public Safety Personnel\nDate/time: Thursday\, January 29\, 2026.\n9:00 am PST\, 11:00am CST (Regina)\, 12:00 pm EST \nLocation: Zoom \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPublic safety personnel (PSP) routinely encounter high stress\, trauma exposure\, and occupational pressures that can negatively affect mental health and wellbeing. The session draws on insights from research in the field\, as well as lived experiences within law enforcement settings. \nIn this webinar we will: \n\nDescribe the unique stressors PSP face and how these impact wellbeing.\nExplore how canine-assisted therapy functions as a mental health and wellbeing resource in the workplace.\nDiscuss the effects of CAI on PSP stress\, mood\, and wellbeing.\nHighlight considerations for implementing CAI programs within PSP organizations.
