What happens when I call Legacy Place Society? 

During the hours of 6am and 9pm you should get a “live” person on the other end of the phone unless the line is busy and it goes into voice mail.  You will receive a call back within 2 hrs.  If you are calling an Intake Worker directly, leave a message with them and they will get back to you.  Typically they work various shifts and could be on a scene.  Should you require more immediate assistance, contact Legacy Place Society directly and or a member of your Peer Support Team within the Services.

Will my call or inquiry be reported to my department? 

Unless the call involves injury to self or others, there is no mandatory reporting.  All calls are confidential and privileged communication.

 

Can my family members utilize these services? 

Yes if you are a direct relation to the Police/Peace, Fire, EMS, 911 Dispatch or Military but not limited to spouse, sibling, son, daughter, parent.  Should you have further questions contact Legacy Place Society directly.  Anyone accessing the house must first be approved by Legacy Place Society.  Unauthorized personnel in the houses will Legacy Place to possibly discontinue services.  This is for the safety, confidentiality and liability for the organization and the personnel who require these services.

Does Legacy Place Society get paid for referrals? 

No.  Sustainability of the Society is maintained through donations and grants.  There is a daily nominal charge for staying at the houses and a cost recovery charge for programs such as camps or workshops.

Where are you located?  

The addresses are confidential but are located close to major hospitals, shopping malls and transportation arteries.

What do I need to bring if I stay at Legacy Place? 

Cell phone and or personal device to access internet, clothing, medications, toiletries, etc.  Towels, linens and hairdryer are provided for your stay.

Do we need to bring food?

At Legacy Place, basics such as milk, coffee, cream, sugar, bread, butter, peanut butter and condiments are available.   There are also canned and dry goods such as cereal, soups, KD, etc… on hand.  Grocery stores are nearby to buy food and other personal necessities.  The main kitchen and eating area is for all to enjoy, we just ask that you DO NOT EAT in your rooms, ensure you clean as you go and don’t consume other foods items marked for others.

What if I need to bring my children?

Each situation is unique as there are times of a quick in town medical appointment or a shared custody situation where one of the parents has a weekend visit with their kids.  Same rules of safety and code of conduct are expected when kids are with you.  We will not babysit, or provide child care while you are at appointments.  As part of the Intake process, we can further discuss the situation.

Do you have a play area? 

Not specifically to each location, however we have a selection of board games, puzzles and elementary type toys.  Parks are within a five minute walking distance.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Most individuals have their own personal devises that they bring with them.  Should there be a situation where this is not the case, please feel free to notify us in advance.  Free Wi-Fi is available via password at check in time.

Do you provide transport to our appointments? 

While it is not our mandate to provide transportation, we will try to help out as much as we can.  There are close by bus routes.

What are your hours of operation?

Contact Legacy Place Society directly at 403-201-9945 if dealing with a medical accommodation need.  Otherwise, check our list of Intake Workers and they’ll be able to assist you for other reasons of needing accommodations.  Upon confirmation of acceptance to the accommodation needs, Legacy Place will work with the scheduling arrangements to bring you in.  We typically will not accept new clients after 8pm.

Could we bring our pet? 

Due to allergies and liabilities, NO, however, if you have a ‘service dog’, we will take this into consideration.  We will NOT be able to leave the service dog alone in our care thus it will be entirely your responsibility for looking after them. We must be notified prior so proper arrangements can be made.

Is parking available?

Yes free parking at the Legacy Place Houses.
