Our mission at Legacy Place Society has always been to enhance the lives of the families and those who serve in law enforcement, emergency medical/fire services, 911 dispatch, Veterans and military personnel through the power of confidential empathetic support, user friendly access to resources and through the strength of our collaborative networks.
At Legacy Place, we strive to “Raise Awareness”, “End the Stigma” and “Inspire Systemic Change” all the while in continually asking ourselves: How are we supporting the lives of the people we serve?
It is this focus on impact that drives our work everyday, and over the past year, we have pressed forward to ensure we are addressing the many inquiries and needs of those who contact Legacy Place. At Legacy Place, we recognize that we are only as strong as the strength of our network, and we are grateful that over the past year, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our connections and outreach have not weakened, but instead have grown much stronger.
This past year, as a Donor or through Education Partnerships, you supported the families and those who serve in law enforcement, emergency medical/fire services, 911 dispatch, Veterans and military personnel in so many critical ways.
Virtual events and where possible numerous initiatives brought conversation and insight to peer support, benevolence, grief, vicarious trauma, sleep hygiene, emotional wellness and important mental health topics including addiction, depression, anxiety and suicide awareness.
Your support also contributed to the well being of our confidential help phone line that facilitates connection to professional and peer support and the operations of the 3 Legacy Place Houses – which by the way in 2021 saw our record year of use of over 2700 nightly stays.
In our homes, towns, cities and country, mental health is among the most challenging issues we face today. Thankyou for standing with us in sharing values of family, compassion, empathy, inclusion, collaboration and respect for those we serve and their families.
